This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use Fyndflix and related services (the "Service"), and explains your privacy rights and how the law may protect you. Fyndflix is operated from Malaysia. We use personal data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Interpretation and definitions

Words with capitalized initials have meanings defined below. The same definitions apply whether they appear in singular or plural.

Account means a unique account created for you to access the Service or parts of the Service.
Application means Fyndflix, the software program provided by us.
Company("we", "us", or "our") refers to the operator of Fyndflix, based in Malaysia. We act as a data user (in the sense of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010) for personal data we process in providing the Service.
Device means any device that can access the Service (e.g. phone, tablet, computer).
Personal data means information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
Service means the Application, our website, and related features we offer.
Service provider means a third party that processes data on our behalf to facilitate or analyze the Service, host infrastructure, provide authentication, or perform related functions.
Usage data means data collected automatically when you use the Service (for example diagnostics, general device or connection information, and interaction data).
You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the legal entity on whose behalf such individual is accessing or using the Service.

Types of data collected

Personal data. While using the Service, we may ask you to provide information that can contact or identify you. This may include, for example: email address; account identifiers; profile or display name where you choose to provide one; and messages you send us (such as support requests or waitlist sign-ups on our website).

It may include, for example: IP address; browser or app type and version; pages or screens you view; time and date of visits; time spent on features; device identifiers and diagnostic data; and general technical information used to operate and secure the Service. When you access the Service through a mobile device, we may collect device-related information permitted by your operating system and your settings.

Sign-in and linked accounts. If you use a third-party sign-in provider (such as Apple or Google) where we support it, we may receive information that provider shares with us according to your settings and their policies, such as name and email address.

Metadata and content from public sources. To show movie and TV information, the Service may display metadata and related images from third-party databases (for example public film and TV catalogs). That information is generally not personal data about you; it is processed to power discovery features in the app.

Use of your personal data

We may use personal data for purposes including:

To manage your account and authentication (where applicable);
To contact you about updates, support, security notices, or important service information;
To analyze usage in aggregate, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance and reliability;

With service providers who assist us in operating the Service (for example hosting, infrastructure, authentication, email delivery, analytics, customer support, and security). These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to perform services for us and must protect it in line with appropriate obligations.
For business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and notices.
With affiliates where we are part of a group of companies, under consistent privacy commitments.
With your consent or at your direction.
For legal reasons if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (for example a court or government agency), or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (for example tax, accounting, or legal claims). Usage data may be retained for shorter periods for internal analysis, except where used to strengthen security or improve functionality, or where we are legally required to retain it longer.

Transfer of your personal data

We primarily operate from Malaysia. Your information may also be processed in other countries (including where our service providers are located), where data protection rules may differ. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.

Delete your personal data

You may have the right to delete or request assistance deleting personal data we hold about you. Depending on the product, you may be able to delete certain information from within the Service (for example account settings). You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion as applicable law allows. Where we are required to retain certain information, we may retain it as permitted by law.

Security

We care about the security of your personal data and use commercially reasonable safeguards. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Analytics and advertising

We may use analytics to understand how the Service is used in aggregate. On some platforms, advertising or measurement partners may process identifiers or usage data as permitted by their policies and your device settings. You can control certain tracking or advertising choices through your device or platform settings.

Malaysia and the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA)

If you are in Malaysia or we process your personal data in connection with our operations there, the PDPA may apply. In line with the PDPA, we process personal data for legitimate business purposes described in this Policy, and where the law requires your consent for certain processing, we will seek it appropriately (for example through in-app or website notices).

Under the PDPA, you may have rights including, where applicable, to:

Request access to personal data we hold about you;
Request correction of personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date;
Withdraw consent to processing that is based on consent, understanding that this may affect our ability to provide certain features;
Lodge a complaint with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Commissioner (or the authority that succeeds that office), if you believe your personal data has been mishandled—after contacting us so we can try to resolve your concern first where reasonable.

Governing law and venue

This Privacy Policy and disputes arising from or relating to it or the Service are governed by the laws of Malaysia. You agree that the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over such disputes, to the extent permitted by law.

Do not track

There is no consistent industry standard for recognizing or honoring “Do Not Track” browser signals. Our Service does not respond to DNT signals in a uniform way.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

The Service may contain links to third-party sites or services we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content or practices. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Where material changes require notice under applicable law, we will provide notice as required.
